I recently purchased Scrivener.  I'll admit, at first, I was skeptical. I wondered if this program could really make my writing life easier.  I doubted it, but decided to try it anyway as it came highly recommended from fellow writers.

What is Scrivener?

"Scrivener is a powerful content-generation tool for writers that allows you to concentrate on composing and structuring long and difficult documents. While it gives you complete control of the formatting, its focus is on helping you get to the end of that awkward first draft."

Personally, I like it for the cork board and note cards.  At last, I can jot down random notes and view them at my leisure.  I can find pictures that remind me of a scene, character, style, or action and paste them with the coordinating story.

This tool is amazing.
